Behind the LensA Life Shaped by Mountains
Born at 10,000 feet in Fairplay, Colorado, Aine grew up surrounded by some of North America's highest peaks. From an early age, the mountains became both playground and inspiration, shaping a lifelong connection to the natural world.
Raised in a creative family, he explored art through realistic pencil drawings and airbrush painting before eventually discovering photography as his preferred medium for capturing the beauty of the landscapes around him.
Finding Wonder in the Everyday
Many of Aine's photographs are inspired by moments that appear and disappear in an instant—a sunrise breaking through the clouds, the glow of an aurora overhead, or the changing light across a mountain ridge.
His work is less about documenting a location and more about preserving a feeling. Each image serves as a reminder to slow down, look closer, and reconnect with the world around us.
Through his photography, Aine hopes to share the awe, beauty, and quiet sense of perspective that nature so often provides.
From Artist to Photographer
Long before photography became his primary creative outlet, Aine's artistic journey began with realistic pencil drawings and airbrush painting. Growing up in a creative family, he developed an appreciation for composition, craftsmanship, and the ability of art to tell a story.
Over the years, his work expanded to include custom motorcycle helmets and large-scale public art projects, including painted portraits and historical scenes displayed on a transit bus in Crested Butte, Colorado.
As life evolved and eventually led him to British Columbia, photography emerged as a natural extension of that creative foundation—allowing him to explore, document, and share the landscapes that continue to inspire him most.
"My compositions are what I see as a freeze frame in perfection of an imperfect world."
— Aine FalterHome in the Purcells
Today, Aine photographs throughout British Columbia and the surrounding mountain ranges, with much of his work inspired by the landscapes of the Purcell Mountains, the Canadian Rockies, and the wild places that connect them.
His fine art prints are created to bring a sense of wonder, stillness, and connection to the natural world into homes and spaces where they can be appreciated every day.
